New Bedroom Eyes, Courtesy of Theyellowstereo

Hand-in-Hand Grenade by Bedroom Eyes. I hadn't previously heard this band, but I am really digging their sound right about now. It's upbeat and seriously makes for a better mood.

New Stars track, Courtesy of Theyellowstereo

They have the MP3 for their new track The Night Starts Here along with the new track list. It's an alright song if you ask me, but people seem to be digging it. I do like Stars, but this one just isn't doing it for me.

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

The Cripple Lillies, Courtesy of Obscuresound

The Charred Heart of The Tin Woodman, Left Over Legs, and Early In The Morning. They have a great mellow sound to them. The piano drum combo at times reminded me of a lounge act on The Charred Heart... At any rate, if you only have time for one, I would look into the third track.

St. Vincent, Courtesy of Rawkblog

Now. Now. and Marry Me. This chick has a great voice for her style. If you don't know her, change that over at Rawkblog.

Cold War Kids on Youtube

Check out this acoustic version of We Used To Vacation. This has got to be my favorite song of theirs right off the bat. I know I am way behind on this one, but I just got around to picking up their cd, and this version is great.

Eugene McGuinness, Courtesy of Stereogum

The video for Monsters Under The Bed. It's a cool animated video and an very catch track. Head on over to Stereogum and check it out.

New Interpol video, Courtesy of Stereogum

It's the video for The Heinrich Maneuver from their new album. A good song from a great band, with a not so good/great video.

If you want to go slightly older school with it, check out their videos for Evil and Slow hands.

The Main Drag, Courtesy of Theyellowstereo

Even Seconds, Love During Wartime, and Goodnight Technologist MP3s are available. They've got a really good electronic sound to them, so go check them out.

Bat For Lashes video, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

What's A Girl To Do video. There's kind of a creepy vibe to the whole thing. Overall, it's a very cool video and a catchy song.

Tom Waits, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

Lie To Me from Tom Waits' album Orphans. I've been hearing this guy since I was a kid because my dad was so into him, but I never really cared for the guy. I do have to admit though, that this song is great.

The Bicycles, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

B-B-Bicycles MP3 and the video for Paris Be Mine. Paris Be Mine has way more of the twee sound to it, and as much as I can appreciate that at times, I'm sticking with B-B-Bicycles between these two.

Monday, June 25, 2007

Daft Punk video, Courtesy of Stereogum

Harder, Better, Faster Stronger video. At first it seems pretty weak but I was left with only one thought when it was over. "CRAZY AWESOME."

Minus Story, Courtesy of Rawkblog

Little Wet Head and Stitch Me Up. Stitch Me Up is my favorite between the two of them; it's a lot more upbeat and easier to get into if you are unfamiliar with the band.

The Conquistadors, Courtesy of Obscuresound

Daydreamer, Started a Fire, and Something Good. Some pretty good tracks, but I can't help but feel that might have felt a little more at home back in the 80's. Anyway, there you have it.

The Selfish Gene, Courtesy of Obscuresound

Autopilot, Fist Fed, and Available. Their stuff is medium paced, but leaning toward fast. Great write-up, so head on over and listen.

The Eames Era, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

Benjamin, When You Were a Millionaire, and Dear Gabby live. All in all, they sounds great live; They have a really together sound.

Petticoat, Petticoat, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

Love In An Alley, and Glittering Heels. She has a nice voice, and it's really easy to listen to. At certain points in Glittering Heels, her voice reminds me of The Pipettes. So if that's the kind of stuff you like. . .

TheDeathSet, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

The video for Negative Thinking is up along with the MP3 for that and Paranoia and Intermission. I was suprised I liked their sound at first, having just read their name, but it's not too heavy. So get on it.

You Say Party! We Say Die!, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

The music video for the song Monster. Nice song with a shockingly cool video. The filming on this thing is great.

Dirty Projectors, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

The MP3 of No More and a 12 minute video of a live show. This guy definitely has a unique sound, but if you dont mind that the video is pretty cool to just watch.

Thursday, June 21, 2007

The Mary Timony Band video, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

The song is called Sharpshooter. It's a pretty catchy song and I'm not completely sure whether or not I like the video. This is what I imagine a cartoon designed for kids by Of Montreal might look like.

Beastie Boys, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

They've got the new album, "The Mix Up," streaming. It's pretty good from what I've heard of it, by Beastie Boy standards that is.

New Mark Ronson video, Courtesy of Stereogum

The Kaiser Chiefs' Oh My God as performed by Mark Ronson and Lily Allen. It's pretty good, but I am going to stick with the original. Nice video though.

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Check out Prototypes on myspace

Je Ne Te Connais Pas is a good song, but I'm a bigger fan of Who's Gonna Sing. There is a lot of electronic stuff going on with some piano and guitar. If you don't know em, check it out.

Some Princeton action for you

Head over to their myspace and check out their stuff. Blackbeard is great, as well as Tokyo Japan. I don't really care for the one that plays when it first starts up, but check out what they're putting out there.

Bishop Allen, Courtesy of Rawkblog

A couple more tracks for your enjoyment, including Corazon, and Click Click Click Click. Great music all around. I'm getting into Click Click Click Click at the moment, and I suggest you do the same.

Get Him Eat Him, Courtesy of Theyellowstereo

2x2 and Get Down are available for download. Yet another new one to me, but I'm not so sure how I missed this one. It's good. For Serious. Look into it.

The National, Courtesy of Theyellowstereo

Mistaken For Strangers, Secret Meeting, Mr. November, and Karen are available. Secret Meeting and Mr. November are probably better than the other two, but it's all worth listening to.

Scott Matthews, Courtesy of Stereogum

Elusive by Scott Matthews. This guy has a really smooth acoustic sound and he builds on it really well right up until the end. It's just a nice song in general, so get on it.

New Chemical Brothers, Courtesy of Stereogum

Do It Again (Oliver Huntemann Dub Mix) by Chemical Brothers. Not a huge fan of the band, but this track is pretty decent. So if you're into them. . .

Oh No! Oh My!, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

The Party Punch by Oh No! Oh My!. This song was my introduction to them, and I have to say I'm really digging it.

My Morning Jacket and Wilco, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

Off The Record by My Morning Jacket and Thirteen by Wilco. Off The Record is only second to One Big Holiday in my book. They also have a link to the Austin City Limits lineup, so head on over and check it out.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Menomena, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

3 Tracks are available, including My My, Air Aid, and Rotten Hell. A lot of sites have the Rotten Hell video, but here they have it with the MP3s for that and a couple others.

Live Sufjan Stevens, Courtesy of Rawkblog

It's an MP3 of Chicago available for download. I don't know what anyone else thinks about this, but I have to say that my favorite version of the song was the all acoustic version on The Avalanche. Anyway, this one kind of reminds me of that.

The Silent League, Courtesy of Obscuresound

Let It Roll, Victim of Aeroplanes, and Kings & Queens. Victim of Aeroplanes has to be my favorite of the lot. It's all pretty relaxed.

TV On The Radio, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

Wolf Like Me and Staring At The Sun are available. Wolf Like Me is fast paced awesomeness at its finest.

Some Franz Ferdinand videos, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

2 videos for you to check out. They are mixes of interview clips and some live clips.

Monday, June 18, 2007

The Cribs video, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

Men's Needs by The Cribs. The video is definitely NSFW. There are a couple of available versions to pick from though, including one with a censored bar and one in a body suit. The song is cool, so check it out.

Or The Whale tracks, Courtesy of Cause=Time

Of the 3 tracks that they have up, I am going to have to go with Call and Response. Their sound kind of makes me think of the late 90's, but at least something good from then.

White Stripes cover Bowie, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

The White Stripes playing Moonage Daydream. This is more or less just one of those things that you want to hear for the sake of hearing it; I can't imagine listening to it for enjoyment.

Fiest, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

So Sorry, The Water, and Sea Lion Woman are available for download. I'm certain that you know her by now, but if you don't, her stuff is quite relaxing and she's very talented.

The Sheds albums for free

Head on over to their site to check out their different albums. They have four up for grabs, and as of right now, I'm really digging on the first track on You've Got a Light.

Some music video action, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

They've got videos up by Menomena, Lonely, Dear, Mia, and The Polyphonic Spree. The Menomena video is for the song Rotten Hell. It's the unlabled video and it's really good.

The Watson Twins Cover Spoon, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

They play my all time favorite Spoon song - I Summon You. I was a little bit worried when I first saw this, but damned if they didn't do a great job.

3 Vinyl Radio tracks, Courtesy of Obscuresound

Die Together, I've Gone Soft, and Said Son. You've got to trust me on this: if you like the music but the nasal voice gets to you, just give it a little bit. I've Gone Soft is great.

Battles, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

The video for Atlas from their new album. It's a good song and video, along with a quote from one of the members about The Strokes. Check it out.

White Denim, Courtesy of Anaquariumdrunkard

Shake, Shake, Shake MP3 is up for grabs. It's really fast paced, so if that's your thing, now you know.

Friday, June 15, 2007

New Pornographers, Courtesy of Freeindie

Freeindie.com is hosting 5 tracks by the New Pornographers, including my personal favorite Mass Romantic. Get it while it's hot.

The Smiths, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

3 tracks, including Reel Around The Fountain, This Charming Man, and I Don't Owe You Anything. I know a lot of people are into The Smiths, so there you have it.

Bryan Scary, Courtesy of Obscuresound

The Ceiling on The Wall, The Little Engine Who Couldn't (Thing Straight), and Mrs. Gracie's Revenge! I'm going to have to call The Ceiling on The Wall the best of the lot. Mrs. Gracie's Revenge! somehow reminds me of a highly produced version of some old Of Montreal. Great Review. Check it out.

Assembly Now, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

It's Magnetic and Cool To Be Kind. Good Britpop. That's pretty much the extent of it. Cool To Be Kind kind of reminds me of Built To Spill at some points. That's a good thing.

Blitzen Trapper, Courtesy of Myoldkentuckyblog

Wild Mountain Nation, Texaco, and Summertwin. They have a great older sound to them. Wild Mountain Nation is a must listen to.

Live Tokyo Police Club Videos

Nature of The Experiment, Be Good, and If it Works. Pretty high quality videos with a good show. What's not to like?

Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga streaming for your pleasure

They've got the whole album up so hurry and give it a listen. Gimme Fiction is in my top 5 all time, so that's going to be hard to match. From what I've heard though, it may just take me another week or so to change all that.

Television video, Courtesy of Brooklynvegan

Marquee Moon by Television. This song rocks pretty hard. You better take your shoes off now, or else your socks might blow off right through them.

Thursday, June 14, 2007

Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?

They've got the whole album streaming. So if for some reason you haven't listened to the whole thing yet, here's your opportunity. . . . And stop slacking off.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Letterman in 2006

CYHSY performing Is This Love on Letterman. As always, they sound great. They need to do another American tour soon.

Feist on Conan, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

Some Free Ohtis, Courtesy of Ohtis.com

They have several tracks for download and you can stream their entire first album. There is also a really funny story up above it where he screws with a writer.

Simple Kid, Courtesy of Stereogum

This kid kind of kicks ass. Lil' King Kong is definitely one of the best songs I've heard in a while. I really don't know what to compare him to, but it would have to be something good.

CSS remix Little Ones track, Courtesy of Stereogum

Lovers to Uncover by Little Ones, via CSS. It's really upbeat, and if you like CSS you need to get on this one.

Shearwater, Minus Story, and Travel By Sea, Courtesy of Rawkblog

Stitch Me Up and I Won't Let You Down are really good songs that I hadn't heard before. That Shearwater track is kind of off doing it's own thing though, but if you're into that, then have at it.

A few live Wilco tracks, Courtesy of Wilcoworld

There are 4 live tracks available. I could do without the pictures in the Quicktime player, but Wilco sounds great.

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Some Kings of Leon action, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

True Love Way and Arizona. True Love Way isn't complete, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get. They've also go La Costa Brava by Ted Leo and The Pharmacists which is a nice listen.

Update - True Love Way has been replaced with Knocked Up from the same record.

My Morning Jacket, Courtesy of Sonicitchmusic

The Way That He Sings and Lowdown, are up for grabs. They also have Why Go by Pearl Jam. You're welcome.

Sam Champion, Courtesy of Stereogum

Be Mine Everyone by Sam Champion. Upbeat and great. The music, especially at the beginning reminds me of something that Arctic Monekeys would do. Thats a good thing. Check it out.

Liars, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

Plaster Casts of Everything by Liars. It's a little faster paced and heavier than a lot of the things I link, but it's good if you are into that sort of thing. Personally, it's not my cup of tea.

More Spoon, Courtesy of Rawkblog

2 tracks are up, including The Underdog, and You Got Yr Cherry Bomb. If you love Spoon like you should, then you've already clicked the link, so I don't have to type anymore.

1990s, Courtesy of Obscuresound

Some Pink Floyd, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

Video and MP3 for Astronomy Domine, and the MP3 for Lucifer Sam. Pink Floyd never has been my thing, but if thats your deal, then that's where you can go get it.

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

Bishop Allen, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

They've got 2 tracks up including Rain and The Ruby Ring Man. They also have the tour schedule up. Get on it. It's good or I wouldnt have said anything.

Some Division Day, Courtesy of Rawkblog

This is the first I've heard of them, but their song Lights Out is great. You're already just messing around online, so you might as well listen to it.

Icky Thump, Courtesy of MTV.com?

I don't know exactly how this has happened. MTV has just done something for people that aren't stupid and/or children. Anyway, Of course the album kicks ass. Get over there and listen to it because there's no telling when it's going away.

New CSS video, Courtesy of Scenestars

Alcohol by CSS with a very cool animated video. A lot of people seem to be hating on this song, but I really gotta say I'm kind of into it.

Live tracks from Bright Eyes, Courtesy of Rawkblog

The track is called Boy With a Coin and it's got a really solid beat to it. This may even be my new favorite song of theirs.

The Bees, Courtesy of Anaquariumdrunkard

Love In The Harbour and Who Cares What The Question Is. They have a seriously old school sound, and they really pull it off. Go check it out.

Monday, June 11, 2007

Flaming Lips video on the Youtube

The Flaming lips covering some Elvis live. There's no such thing as too much Flaming Lips, so when you're done with this video, just watch some more. There's never a shortage of live footage.

"What Light" by Wilco, Courtesy of Youaintnopicasso

I've never really been a big fan of Wilco for whatever reason, but this song is really worth listening to. It includes my favorite use of steel guitar since Belle and Sebastian put out Take Your Carriage Clock and Shove it.

Harvey Danger Lip-sync, Courtesy of Stereogum

I don't know how I have missed this when it first hit the web, but for the love of God, look at it. That's all I have to say about that.

Nature of The Experiment performed live on Letterman. I have never heard them perform live before, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Arcade Fire's Win Butler apparently stole some guy's ball. Pretty amusing story, along with an MP3 of the remake of their song No Cars Go that is featured on their new album.

Panda Bear track, Courtesy of Spinner.com

They have a couple of good songs currently available on their myspace. Two of my favorite songs of the last 6 months or so would have to be Hold It In and Good Day.

New Bark Bark Bark, Courtesy of Stereogum

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

Pre-release Ryan Adams, Courtesy of Anaquariumdrunkard

As the title says, some early tracks from Ryan Adams' new album. These songs aren't complete, but a little Ryan Adams is better than none in my book. Definitely worth looking into if you're a fan.

Steven Mark tracks, Courtesy of Obscuresound

3 tracks from Mark's new album. He has a late 80's/early 90's sound to him, and he is more than a little jaded. At any rate, check out his song Paris Hilton Generation if you haven't already.

White Stripes Videos, Courtesy of Stereogum

3 live videos from the White stripes, including Icky Thump. The performances are from Later with Jools Holland. The other two tracks are Effect and Cause and My Doorbell.

A few Maccabees tracks, Courtesy of Indietastic

Check out these Maccabees tracks over at Indietastic. They haven't been on the scene for that long, just a year or two to my knowledge, but they're damn good. Check them out if you haven't already. My personal favorite is First Love.

Voxtrot video, Courtesy of Pitchforkmedia

Video for Steven, from Voxtrot's full length debut. The new Voxtrot album is in my top 5 all time cd's that hardcore indie critics claimed were over-rated. Check it out.

New Minus the Bear track, Courtesy of Stereogum

Throwin' Shapes from Minus the Bear's upcoming album. It's nice when bands don't fizzle out when they start to get bigger. Thank you Minus the Bear. Thank you.

Arctic Monkeys, Courtesy of Indietastic

Some relatively new Arctic Monkeys tracks. I've gotta say, they don't seem quite as catchy as the early releases from their debut, but they are fairly consistant with the alright ones. At any rate, it's better than a lot of the other crap thats coming out.

All acoustic Spoon, Courtesy of Rawkblog

Pre-Gimme Fiction Spoon. It's really just the lead singer but several of the tracks are pretty decent. I definitely recommend I Summon You and The Delicate Place as far as this tracklist goes. Check it.
